GMR plans expansion of Hyderabad airport facilities

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd plans to construct a special handling terminal of area 2592 sq.meter to enhance the cargo handling facilities from 1,00,000 tpa to 3,00,000 tpa. It will set up facilities like warehouses for perishable and non-perishable goods , a cargo agents building, etc., It may be noted, the company is planning to set up a aviation SEZ within the airport premises. The investment for the terminal will be Rs.150 million and the aviation SEZ will be Rs. 1667 million.

Hyderabad Airport to have engine maintenance training center

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has signed an MoA with CFM International (aircraft engine manufacturer) for setting up a maintenance and training centre for CFM customers. The centre will be located in Rajiv Gandhi International Airport premises in aviation Special Economic Zone. As per the agreement, GHIAL will build the facility and lease it to CFM. The new centre will built on similar CFM centres in France, USA and China and will cater to CFM customers in South Asian Region.
